I was thinking, how long has MH/DT been around now?

Matt's Hideout must of been around for at least 8/9/10 years now if my memory serves me right. Because when I was informally diagnosed with dyspraxia I was around 8/9, and I remember my mum giving the link to this site not long after. :) I was wondering whether Matt's Hideout has hit its 10th anniversary yet, and if it hasn't, I wonder whether we should do something special to celebrate it, like maybe do that meet up that we have talked about!

I just want to say a big thank you to Matt, Helen, Darren and Vicky (and Miranda, as I realise she was a fab mod when she was one) for keeping DT and Matts Hideout going- I highly doubt without it I would be the person I am today.

And of course, thanks to Charlotte, Madame Tiger (I always spell that name wrong), 1337, Remus, Golden Hamster and of course the rest of you- you are all fab :)

:)

I'm guessing 6 years now for DT as the oldest posts I could find were in 2004. Pretty cool age, can't wait until DT reaches the 10 year anniversary.

As for MH, I haven't got a clue as I've never been on there. I came straight on here.

Aww, thanks. I appreciate that and I'm sure everyone else does. You're great too as well as everyone else. Been a great support over the two years I've been here.

Matts Hideout has been around since September 2001. That was just after I left school, but I didn't know it existed back then.

Thanks for that Ruby :)

Matt's Hideout will celebrate it's 10th birthday next year. How old am I feeling now?

I found Matt's Hideout when I was fourteen or fifteen. It was by accident (I was looking for information on dyslexia at the time) and it was the best accident of my life. Without Matt's Hideout, no understanding of dyspraxia, no diagnosis, no special education, no decent exam results, no occupational therapy, no university, no chance to live independently. It changed my life.

When I finished reading through the symptoms list, Matt's story, and some of the forum posts, I actually cried. I'd been bullied for being a freak and a retard for so long and at last here were people like me. Without knowing you lot I would probably still be the very awkward and timid person I was at fourteen. Thanks, everybody - especially Matt, Helen, Darren, and all ye olde timers.

Perhaps now would be a good time to draw your attention to the thoughtful birthday tribute that Nina placed in Chat Cafe some days ago. ;)
