hi, i have umm a little 'quirk' which may or may not be dyspraxia related:
whenever i get excited e.g during the closing stages of an F1 qualifying session for example i umm 'flap my arms', or move them side2side very fast close 2 my body. its uncontrolable and i do it without thinking. any ideas if it could be dyspraxia related?

This is known as "stimming". It is very common in people with dyspraxia and is also found in other conditions such as autism. The forms of stimulation vary-some jump up and down or pace whilst others, like you, flap their hands or rock.

yeah i do that too! i also rock like steph said (but i dont know im doing it half the time) and when i get exited i flap my arms and i bounce and make funny noices e.g 'weyyyyy' or 'hee hee' (imatating micheal jackson lol)

I flap my arms around but only when there is nobody around. I love pacing up and down though, it really makes me feel less nervous and calms me down.

I often flap my arms when running or walking quickly, but I expect that is more to do with ballance. When happy or excited I tend to flap my arms and also make exadurated gestures.

I only flap my hands when anxious. My most common stims are rocking, pacing, and waving a pencil very fast in front of my face. (I do this last one most of the time - it can be quite offputting until you get used to me.)

I writhe my hands when I am anxious, daydreaming, agry or struggling to concentrate.

I do this too, I rock too but that can happen any time sometimes I think I just do it because I like how it feels.

more when i was liitle and the doctors then tried to give me epileptic pills which luckerly my parents would have any of it.
It is sensory feedback which is needed to think , express or to control excitement ect , trying things like running out energy out with star jumps , having elastic bands round your wrist to fiddle with ect can help.

I sometimes flap my arms when i'm excited, frustrated or angry/annoyed. sometimes i jump and pull my legs up as well, so it sometimes looks like I'm trying to fly. But i only do it at home, around family. mostly when I'm on my own.

I'm not sure if this is stimming, but I twiddle my hair around my finger a lot, almost every day! The problem is, when I do it, my hair gets all tangled!
