Postby carebear15 » Wed Sep 22, 2010 11:02 am

My dad is in denial i have cerebral palsy so how do i get him to accept that i have cerebral palsy?
I wear braces for one and i am not wearing them for fun and that i am wearing them to walk better.
I will have to have Physical Therapy to help me with the walking on my sides of my feet.
I need Occupational Therapy.
Help me please to know what to do or say to help others accept that i have the disability.
It is only mild.

answers please everyone.

Give your dad time, he'll accept it eventually. If anyone says anything mean to or about you, ignore them. Just remember you're you and that you're special in your own way :D

My dad never accepted it, sorry to say. Same with Dyspraxia. He claims it's my mothers fault I think I have problems. I dont talk about it with him.

I don't think there's a lot you can do, Jar. Has he seen the doctor's diagnosis? If he won't believe a doctor, then he probably won't believe anyone.
