I was put into DA once because they think that I just use my illness as an excuse for forgetting some school stuffs.

Dyspraxia is not an illness.

I lost count of the number of times I was punished in spite of the difficulties I was known to have. One episode sticks out in my mind as particularly illogical though. I was told off for a full 15 minutes by the head of the technology department on behalf of my food tech teacher for not remembering a printed copy of my food tech project. I had received permision through the school senco the day before (after she had asked my teacher) to print off my project in the lesson so that I did not forget it. I spent the first 10 minutes pointing this out, and then gave up.

And then there where the times I was made to feel I'd be better off without the label, like the patronising treatment and poor predicted grades (which seemed in no way based on my grades at the time) in English by non other than the school senco. Both myself and the only other dyspraxic person in my class were put into the same set for the following year, where the majority of the class was looking to scrape C's. The teacher of that set spent most of his time apologising for not being able to set me more challanging books and reports. I feel I could have gotten an A if I had been able to concentrate, but the class was extremely disruptive (I don't remember him talking for more than 2 minutes without someone calling out with something irrelevant).

I was once told by the fury (she was an English teacher that was so horrible that she didn't get that nickname for nothing) that I wasn't allowed to type because I got lower grades on a paper I typed than on a paper I wrote even when I had difficulties with the actual subject on the typed paper. In England we are entitled to be treated differently don't stand for it get your parents to complain I junior school I suffered discrimination from teachers. There is an act that protects us from things like this.
