As a religious person, I don't think I'd be afraid to die when the time is right. For me it would be like going to what Helen Burns so movingly describes as 'my last home, my long home'. (Jane Eyre.) The inevitability of death doesn't frighten me. I just want to live a rich and fulfilling life first...

im scared of heights and fire works (just the noise) and im also quite claustrophobic.

Joss,

Have you ever tried wearing a pair of those ear defenders that workmen have on construction sites? They aren't exactly discreet and I wouldn't go about town in them (small earplugs are better for that), but I always put them on under my winter hood for Bonfire Night. That way you can enjoy the sight of the fireworks without any of the sound effects.
