We were told that you needed to have it handwritten so they can do handwriting comparisons between your coursework and your exam paper :? , but i didn't do a handwritten piece of coursework i just did a half a page sample of handwriting

No. I use a laptop for all my exams with spell check disabled except maths. (Bit hard to do on a laptop)

If you're allowed to use a laptop for exams, you should be allowed to do so for coursework.

Gah. I remember in year 10 my senco telling me I had to handwrite my english coursework, when actually my english teacher had applied for an exception (and got it!). I didn't know this until after 2 weeks of copying out each paragraph two hours a night. Tedious. Ask if you can apply to the exam board to type the work instead, if GCSE or A-Level. You might have to supply evidence from an OT or edy physch though.

Nothing worse than English in terms of writing, I have was 2 hours doing a 6 page essay and my hand was in nasty pain afterwards and it was even worse when I did my Junior Cert.
