im starting university this year. i have reader writers for exams and extra time. i am doing it extramuraly but when i go for contact corses it is being aranged for me to have a note taker, so that i just have to focus on listning. its to late for this sumesta but for next sumester its going to be aranged for my studys to come to me on cds for the compuort and there thinking of finding funding to get a program for me that can read the stuff on the compurot out loud for me so i can listne ruther than have to read it alll. they have also told me that i can cut down on the number of papers i do at a time and becuase i have diffiucltys it would still count as full time study and i could still get a student loan. so im now deciding wether to spend more years studying and cut down on my work load or to keep the amount im doing and finnish it in the nromal 3 years. what do people here think? there is concern that becuase of the amount of reading its going to take me alot longer than other extramural students, which was why this was sujested as a possible good idea.

I think you should complete the course in four years as opposed to three, monkey. The quality of your work may decline if you try to cram in too many papers at once. You have a cocktail of learning differences sloshing about in your brain, and they aren't exactly mild either. You want to get the best mark possible so you can go on to be a top psychologist! It doesn't matter if it takes you a little longer to get there. Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare - 'slow and steady wins the race'.

that would be the logical thing to do. but if i can i do want to avoid doing it differently from everyone esle.

Why, if you know this is illogical? You are different from everyone else, monkey, and that will never change. Now is not the time to start trying to work on someone else's terms, not when you've fought so hard to get to where you are with your originality intact. Different minds cannot work in ordinary ways. Don't expect yours to try.

Yes I agree with Vicky here Monkey - you should never feel overloaded, so four years may be the better option.
