We've just started studying hydrocarbons in chemistry, and since I use a laptop to take notes in class, I'm struggling with drawing the different structures. I would draw them on a sheet, but I know that I'll lose it and then I'll be stuck. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a good piece of software which would allow me to quickly put together the structural formula? I've already researched a certain option, called ChemDraw or something, but the price is too great (a few hundred pounds).

The only thing i can think of is buying a graphics tablet (Between £30 -£50 new) and transfering theimage your laptop or buy a tablet computer (£100-£200 Used on Ebay) the graphics tablet is probably the cheapest option but if you after a new laptop the a tablet might be the better option
