assessment to take and i found this site

Postby carebear15 » Fri Nov 04, 2005 12:17 am

here is a website to go to take a assessment and they have assessments to take and test for dyspraxia, dyslexia, and ADHD.

It told me i have combined type adhd and that is true because i was diagnosed in february 2001 at age 16 and I have a mild case and they diagnosed me with combined type at that time and I had problems through elementary, middle school and high school but when i was finally on the right medicine and It works and everything, I have been taking ritalin since april 2004, and still take the meds.

It told me I have dyspraxia, which I do, so I suppose its accurate.

The test is based on co-ordination problems. It doesn't address Sensory Integrative Disorder, memory problems, perceptual difficulties, autistic traits, or duyslexia and dyscalculia overlap.

Hmm.

I took the test as myself and then as a 'normal' person (indicating that I had very little difficulty with anything). The site still tried to convince me that I could benefit from a DORE programme.

They're all the same. I took a 10-question IQ test on the internet. It told me that I probably had an IQ of 160 and that I should pay £30 for a more in-depth test to see if this was true.

You probably do have an IQ of 160. I've met you; you are exceedingly clever. But why pay £30 to find out when you can just glance at an educational psychologist's report? What con artists.

I don't think it's that high. I'm not 100% sure, but I think my overaklll IQ is about 120. My verbal IQ is about 140, but my visual IQ is about 80.

I thought 160 was incredibly high! On most of the internet IQ tests I've taken, I get around 130. I feel like a right thicko :)

Internet IQ tests aren't accurate. They have given me scores between 50 and 160, so I don't suspect anything they say is true. My IQ cannot fluctuate 110 points in the space of a few weeks.

I had a new assesment done by an educational psychologist and on the report it says that to report my full Iq it would be meaningless because I have quite a large discrepancy between my verbal and performance scores. my verbal Iq put me in the 61st percentile my performance iq puts me in the 4th percentile.

I also have a large discrepancy - a verbal IQ within the 99.9th percentile and a performance IQ within the 3rd percentile - but I was still given a full scale IQ. I don't know how the educational psychologist arrived at that score. I've tried playing with the individual figures to work it out, but I still can't see how. She tried to explain it to me once, but the complicated statistical terminology just befuddled me.

Your wrong, I went there and greatly improved. Maybe it's not for everyone, but it certainly helped me improve my spacial awareness greatly.
