Nuclear energy

nuclear in any form is dangerous and there are always alternatives to it. there should be no exscuse for using it. the reason why the uk goverment wants to use it now is because its cheap and wont take away there precious money.

Nuclear energy is not cheap. Dismantling disused nuclear power stations and storing nuclear waste are expensive processes.

1337 is correct. As the prospect of nuclear emerged in the 1950s and 60s it was claimed that electricity would be so plentiful and cheap that it would more or less be free. In practice this has been far from the case. On the news it was suggested that any new nuclear facility would have to be subsidised, and there's the long term waste and decommissioning issues.
