Nuclear power does not tend to pollute the air. The process of producting the power is created by the fission of large Uranium molecules into smaller ones. In chernobyl it could be argued that the air was polluted as amounts of the radioactive mateirial were carried off into the air, but in normal usage a nuclear power plant does not produce any air pollution except for steam in the cooling towers. There is a diesel burning engine on all plants for use for something (I don't know what), but these are hardly ever used.

Wind farms are ineffiecient, they do not produce much power at all. Solar power is a better alternative, but is only really feasable in very sunny climates, the south of the USA would be ideal, as would the southern mediterranean.
