I've read the first couple of the book in the series, mostly Cirque Du Freak. I keep meaning to get back into it. I haven't seen the film but I have seen the trailer and screenshots and I have to say, it's looks nothing like what I imagine. The books, whilst are now as dark as the Demonata series (which I love!) is still quite creepy and the trailer and the whole feel made it look a kid movie and that really put me off it. I've heard that a lot of readers of the books did not like the film.

I never read the book, but I have seen the movie. I didn't like the movie either. It is kind of slow movie. I love thos small creatures and the Beard Woman "Salma Hayek". She looks so funny with the beard.

ive read all 3 of darren shans series of books. the books were a million times better than the film though, however if you forget the books the film is quite entertaining.

yeah, i'd finish the artemis fowl books first as they are amazing as well. you may also want to think about darren shans other series of books the Demonata. there kind of teenage horror but its fantastic.

There's actually 4 series:
Saga of Darren Shan
Demonata
City Trilogy
Saga of Larten Crepsley
