Can you suggest a good book?

Postby _robyn_ » Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:49 am

Well, I'm a big reader. I can get through 400 page long books in a day (if it is a good one I can't put down :D)

So, I really am trying to find a good book to read. (I have put them in order of how much I liked them)
heres what I have read:
Pendragon series (all 10) (AMAZING! One of my all time favourite series.)
GONE series (I'm waiting for the 5th book to come out! It is a great addictive series!)
The Hunting Ground (Tense- biggest Thriller I have read. I had to read it when i woke up, because reading it at night was terrifying.)
Curious incident of the dog in the night time (Very good.)
Iboy (Good story plot, not my favourite though.)
Septimus Heap series(I got bored of this by the 3rd book and read the last 3 just for the sake of finishing it.)
Numbers (1&2 I don't plan on reading 3, the books just are not my type)

Thing is, this book list also goes through the order of when I bought them- I got pendragon 2 years ago and got numbers most recently. My book decision making is going down....
SO what good books have you read? (please don't say harry potter or twighlight or the hunger games... every time I try find good books for teens these seem to be the only ones that seem to come up...-.-) :D Also I'm really into fantasy the most and fantasy thrillers.

Curious incident of the dog in the night time (Very good.) I love that book as well :D

books which I have read and liked are:

cry silent tears
chinese cinderella
The boy called it
the little prisoner
please daddy no
a friend like henery

Not sure if you will like them, the 1st 5 books are biography and how they childhood was 'stolen' from them as parents abused them.

A friend like henery is another true story written by a mother of an autisic boy and how this dog (henery) help the austic boy to talk to other people.

Not sure if you have heard of Torey Hayden but she writes really good books.

I haven't read any of those books, so I can't tell you any that are like them, so I'll just share some of my favourite series with you. You might enjoy some of these, or you might not.

The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy - Douglas Adams (Scifi/Comedy)
Discworld - Terry Pratchett (Fantasy)
The Bartimaeus Trilogy - Johnathon Stroud (Fantasy)
