I thought this would be a helpful thread- list textures you either love, hate, or use to calm you down. One that always calms me down if I'm in Sensory Overload or just stressed out is gum in my mouth. There's just something about the full feeling in my mouth combined with the chewing motion that just delights me. I hate the feeling of lathery/sticky things, such as the liquid that you use to blow bubbles. I was helping my little cousin blow bubbles today, and he spilled the bottle on to my hands by accident...  ... It was not very comfortable...

Love: velvet, silk, fake fur
Hate: denim, lace, wool, things with loads of seams, skirts/dresses: can feel them 'flapping' against legs, plus can feel it restricting movement, wetness..eugh!

I love things like bubble wrap and sand.
What I hate though is ice lolly sticks on your teeth *shudders* and wooden rolling pins in water!

Fur (soft fake stuff, and also stroking pets, especially on the head)

Polished glass (especially when it's a curved surface)

Textures I love.
Bubblewrap.
The top of babies heads before the skull has completely formed.
Silk.
Velvet.
Sticky textures like cooking mixtures etc.
Textures I hate.
Wet textures.
Wool-it itches me like crazy!
Some labels in clothes-it depends on how long they are.

love: old cotton duvet covers, inside of new hoodeys, leather, rubber,chewing plastic.
Hate: unvarnished wood, old books, crayon paper, pears, silk, sticky stuff.

Love:
Soft stuff: Some clothes, blankets my teddy bear etc.
Hate:
Eating sticky food (eg chocolate with caramel)
Being sticky/dirty: I wash my hands like 30 times a day BUT
Creams: Spot cream, sudocream, whatever. As much as it helps I hate having it on my face.

hate- sticky (like when you have one of those massive sweets on holiday and it gets on your skin and in your hair), greasy. I HATE having greasy hair.

I can't stand lables in my clothes I always make my mum cut them out, also I can't eat hony comb the textur is just to rough and feels horible, I get worked up just thinking about it  ! I don't like little bits of food when I do the washing up for my mum eaher! Also I hate wool jumpers! I love however: cotten pigames(PJs) and tops there lovely <3 Also I love the fealing of stroking my cat!
