Hi Rebecca. Welcome to the forum. Having dyspraxia means that you have to learn to cope with lots of things in life in different ways than non dyspraxic people do.

Hiya Kitty and welcome to the forum :D I don't mean to sound rude so please don't take offence at this but dyspraxia is not a disease-it's a condition. It may sound pedantic but there are very definite differences between the two. Disease generally, although not always, implies both that it is contagious and non permanent although there are exceptions such as Menieres Disease, a disease that affects the balcne centres in the inner ear and causes dizziness and coordination problems (you can tell I used to have an autistic obsession with medical textbooks, can't you? :D ) Dyspraxia is not contagious and its effects as well as advantages are lifelong but that's not such a bad thing. I hope you feel a little happier about your dyspraxia soon.

Don't worry, Kitty-you didn't hurt me-I was more worried about how low you appeared to be about your dyspraxia.

When I was at school I was very low about my dyspraxia. I didn't understand it properly and I desperately wanted to be able to do the same things that other people in my school year could do so easily.
