Newby alert!!!

Postby nagasaki999 » Thu Apr 08, 2010 5:00 pm

Hi my name is Zac
I was recently diagnosed with dyspraxia at the age 29. At first it was a kick in the teeth but now when i think of it im glad to have found out. For many years I have endured bullying and struggled to make close friendships or sometimes I just felt like i didnt fit in or didnt belong any where. After many years of frustration and anger I was eager to find solutions. so here iam now..... :D

Hiya! I'm Steph and I'm 23. I have both dyspraxia and Aspergers Syndrome. I live in Surrey in south east England and I work as a support worker in a residential school for children with severe and complex epilepsy and other neurological and physical disabilities. It is very challenging but I enjoy it and I am getting better at it now! I love animals (I have 3 cats at home), the Internet, learning about other cultures and languages, reading and listening to music. I hope you enjoy the boards :D

Hello, welcome to DT. I'm Remus, I'm 18 and I'm mild dyspraxic (although it's unofficial, trying to get it sorted out). I live in Birmingham, West Midlands where I am currently training to be a zookeeper. I have four cats and one fish and love all sorts of animals! I love books, movies, music, television especially TV series.

Hope you enjoy the boards!

Hey guys. :)
I'm Shen and I found I had dyspraxia, mild dyslexia and HMS when I was around 8. I've been going to physio for 8 years now and I found that it has helped me in SO many ways. My family has supported me in so many ways and as long as you have that support system it really gets much easier to cope. I agree with you that it made so much more sense to why I was the way that I was - it wasn't just that I was THAT clumy and THAT shy. Dealing with dyspraxia I find is more about accepting it as part of you rather then trying to overcome it. It your uni is good you should find some good friends that accept you and will try to help you when you do something 'dyspraxia-prone' instead of laughing at you :).
Good luck!
