An introduction by me :-)

Postby DystantMind » Sat Jul 03, 2010 1:55 pm

Hey, I'm James and I was seventeen in April. I go to College in the UK currently studying English Language & Literature, Computing and Maths at A Level.

My memory is very low on the scale, but the best I can remember is that I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia around the ages of 4-7. Since then it's really been on and off... For some periods of time I forgot all about it and it seems to fade into the background, and then other times it seems to be the root of all my problems.

I don't really feel as though I've got anyone I can really talk to and that I don't have many friends really.

I seem to have a constant tiredness that I can't estinguish with all the sleep in the world and my brain feels like a big lump of concrete in my head. It's like the signals buzzing around my brain are being held up in traffic jams or being stopped for speeding.

I don't get to talk much so I guess when I visit forums like these my conversation just loses control and I end up putting all sorts of rubbish.

If you want to know a little bit about me:
I'm really into fiction, although I can't seem to read a book for longer than twenty minutes without getting a headache or eyestrain. I want to be a writer because I feel thats where my one and only talent lies.
I like playing videogames although they begin to depress me after about five minutes.
I used to go jogging a lot and used to go to the gym, but I've got Chronic Sinusitis so I've given up until that clears.
My self esteem and self will is pretty low and I lack much confidence. I don't do well in big groups of people or with people I don't really know.

That's a bit of basic information about me. :-)

Hiya! I'm Steph and I'm 23. I have both dyspraxia and Aspergers Syndrome. I live in Surrey in south east England and I work as a support worker in a residential school for children with severe and complex epilepsy and other neurological and physical disabilities. It is very challenging but I enjoy it and I am getting better at it now! I love animals (I have 3 cats at home), the Internet, learning about other cultures and languages, reading and listening to music. I hope you enjoy the boards :D

Hello James, welcome to DT. I'm Remus, I'm 18 and I'm mild dyspraxic (although it's unofficial, trying to get it sorted out). I live in Birmingham, West Midlands where I am currently training to be a zookeeper. I have four cats and two fish and love all sorts of animals! I love books, movies, music, television especially TV series.

Hope you enjoy the boards!
