Might be Dyspraxic- what now?

Postby Bri97 » Sat Nov 12, 2011 5:09 pm

Hi I have just joined this forum and for the past couple of months I have found out about Dyspraxia and the symptoms and it has been such a releif to me because it just explains my life! Coordination problems are worst for me and fiddly things- I hear the technical term is fine motor skills  I am doing netball in PE and this is really hard cos I can not physically throw or catch the ball...

Anyway, my mum says she will take me to the doctors in the new year, but I don't really understand what they would do?

hi Bri97 more than likely you will be sent to a specalist who with asess u by asking questions mostly get your mum to also speak to your school cause it will make the prosess quicker if u are dyspraxic you will be adviced by the doctors on therapy i hope this helps u a little :D

Hi Bri97

by going to the doctors they will most likely ask a few questions and if they think you may have it, then they will refer you to a specilist, where you be asked more questions and they will go through some test. If you do have dyspraxia then you may be entiltled to some extra help at school, if you feel like you need it.
