Loneliness

Postby TheEdenQueen2 » Mon May 26, 2014 4:42 am

Hello. My name is Taylor and I am 18 yrs old. I am having some problems with my loneliness :(
I just can't make any friends whatsoever, I can make them perfectly fine online but that is not always safe :(

Someone help me?
There are some reasons why I can't and some of them I cannot remove because they are apart of my Acquired Dyspraxia and Autism (normal, not Aspergers). I need some help, I am very lonely :'(
Never made a friend before....
I rule my own imaginary kingdom and I have strict rules :P

Hi Taylor. I am sorry that you are feeling so lonely-loneliness is a horrible feeling. Are there any adult autism support groups you could join in your local community? Or could you try and start one? (Although that would probably involve going online which, as you say, is not always the safest). Do you have a support worker at all? They may be able to support you to access groups in the local community where you can make friends.

I agree with Steph that a support group may be a good idea for you, because A people will understand you easier and B you already have an ice-breaker. also it may be a good thing to join a club or take lessons in something that you're intrested in for the same reason. If you can just focus on something that you like and enjoy doig it, it'll become easier to make new acquaintances.

Hello.
The answer to your question Steph is no...
There is one but it is quite far away in another place (a city actually, I live in a town)

Well... I don't know what else to do... so lonely :(

Hi Taylor, sorry to hear you are feeling lonely. I also felt lonely in my teens (I'm 30 now) but found it easier to make friends of different ages as I got older. Some of my parents friends are now my friends. Volunteering is a good way to make new friends. Could you look into volunteering at a Charity shop?

Hope things get better. Everyone on DT will be your friends and you can post here as often as you like if you are feeling lonely.
