I'm new to this forum, and would like some information. I was recently just looking up stuff on the net... and found about dyspraxia. I noticed that I had a lot of the symptoms. For example, I'm a really messy eater, bad at tying my shoes, bad at using scissors and knives (just awful with my hands in general), clumsy, etc. (These issues were worse when I was a kid though). I'm 18 now, turning 19 soon and am in University. I've actually been doing very well in school for the last couple of years, but it's mostly because I'm very hard working and determined.
So I was wondering, should I get tested in someway to see if I have dyspraxia? I seem to have a lot of the symptoms, but should I try to see if i can get a diagnosis from a doctor? I mean, I guess it doesn't really change anything if i was formally diagnosed. All my life I felt like an idiot because I couldn't do basic things, but learning about dyspraxia makes me feel like it wasn't my fault. I tend to have very low self confidence, so I'm hoping learning more will help me in someway!
Any advice on the whole doctor issue would be greatly appreciated
